Mark Grace MRICS
Mark runs the Commercial Agency side of the business and
is well known and established on the Island, having been born
in Douglas and worked in Agency for over 23 years.
Mark was educated at King William’s College in Castletown
and subsequently at Liverpool John Moores [Accountancy], and
then Northumberland University, where he gained a First
Class Honours degree in Estate Management. A qualified
Chartered Surveyor and former Chairman of the Merseyside
and Isle of Man Branch, Mark now lives in St Johns with his wife,
Rachel, and two sons, Jack and Nathan.
A former Junior Island Squash champion, Mark still enjoys
regular visits to the Onchan Squash Club, but has become
better known recently for taking to the fairways at Castletown's
excellent Links Golf Course.
Mark is a Director of the Government owned national radio
station – Manx Radio, and holds other Directorships in a
number of property related private and public companies.
Mark is also on the Management and Executive Committees
of the Manx Blind Welfare Society – one of the Island’s largest
charities. He has recently become involved as one of the
founding members of ‘Oskars Dreams’, a new charity
dedicated to the care of terminally ill children on the Island.
Patrick Cowley FNAEA
Patrick is without doubt one of the most respected Estate
Agents on the Island. Having taken over his uncle's firm in
1975, he established and built up the largest local Estate
Agency. The company was sold in the mid 1980's and Patrick
is one of the founding directors of Black Grace
Cowley which was formed in 1994.
A Manxman by birth, Patrick's father Denis Cowley QC
was the first Manxman to be appointed as a Queens Counsel.
His grandfather, Sir Percy Cowley was a former First Deemster
on the Island and Patrick himself holds a number of Directorships
in prominent Manx companies.
A member of the Rotary Club of Douglas, Patrick is married
with three adult children and is an avid follower of rugby and
cricket.
Geoff Black
Born in the Isle of Man, Geoff has been part of the local
property industry for over 30 years. At Black Grace Cowley,
Geoff deals with the professional side of the business,
undertaking a full range of Commercial property valuations for
bank lending and company accounts, rent reviews and lease
renewals.
Geoff and his wife Nikki live in Castletown with their young son,
Jake, the youngest of 7 children! He is a past president of Douglas
Rugby Club and is a keen member of Douglas Rotary Club
and Mount Murray Golf Club.
A fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Geoff
is one of the most experienced and skilled property professionals on
the Island.
Nicholas Cooper FNAEA
Nicholas joined the firm in 2002 and became a Director in
Spring 2003.
Born and educated in Cheshire, Nicholas has spent 19 years
in the industry based in Chester. Before joining Black Grace
Cowley, he was a member of the Board of Management for
the North of England's largest independent estate agents.
His family have Island origins in Castletown and the South of
the Island, dating back over generations.
Nicholas enjoys motorcycling, coastal walking, diving, mountain
biking and skiing, the latter not being as prevalent on the Island
as the former! He is a regular participant of the End to End mountain
bike challenge held each year. Nicholas lives in upper Douglas with his
wife Gaby and two childeren daughter Imogen and son Oliver.
